A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to invalid email addresses under the very same domain. For example, an email sent to the miswritten [email protected] will be delivered to [email protected] in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can get emails from colleagues or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be delivered to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

In case you’ve got a Linux cloud service with our company and you’d like to activate the catch-all functionality for a certain mailbox that you’ve got in your account, it will take literally only one mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to accomplish this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have created under any domain hosted in your account. You can select one email address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all email messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button once again will turn off the catch-all feature. If you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary message and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature until you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply select another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

A catch-all email address can be set up with a few mouse clicks if you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated hosting service with us. The semi-dedicated account will be administered via our in-house created Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes with any domain registered here. To activate the catch-all functionality for a specific mailbox, you’ll have to click on the icon with the same name, which will be next to each email address. Deactivating this feature can be achieved in the exact same way and will not require more than a click either. In case the catch-all option has already been enabled for a particular domain, you’ll get a warning notice. The same goes if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never disable or replace anything automatically.
