Dot NAME Domain Names
Started in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level domain name extension is the single TLD supposed to be for personal sites only. These domains can consist of personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. At the beginning, only 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you wished to secure john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Existing 3rd-level domain names remained working.
Through our company, you can obtain your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to correct the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our firm if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization code from the current domain service provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been done. There are no special regulations on who can buy a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the goal behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.
The dot NAME domain name extension is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no added cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the proper spelling in your local language.
